Assistant Manager
- Annual Salary base pay: $30,000-$35,000 commensurate with experience, plus tips

The Assistant Manager at Goose the Market collaborates with the General Manager/Chef to lead our team of 2-3 supervisors and 10-15 crew members. As an inspiring team leader, the Assistant Manager sets a positive, energetic tone with an infectious passion for good food and great service.
Training will be provided in all stations of Goose the Market—Fresh Meats, Cheese & Charcuterie, Enoteca, and Customer Service—as the Assistant Manager is expected to work effectively in each station as well as to oversee the work of staff in each station.
The Assistant Manager’s responsibilities focus on staff, operations, and products.
Staff
lead by example to promote an environment of hard work, hustle, and superior customer service
oversee timely execution of daily tasks and evaluate completed work
adjust staffing as needed to use labor costs most effectively
Operations
set up and execute special events
use tools like suggestive selling, sampling, product placement, and more to increase sales
open and close the market
continually raise the bar on cleanliness and organization
Products
ensure the quality of all products and find outlets for products that do not meet Goose standards
receive orders, review for accuracy, and assemble enticing displays
create special features and unique offerings
The ideal candidate
has 1+ years experience working in a leadership position in the food industry.
has earned or is working toward a degree in Hospitality Management, Business Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
uses excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and in writing.
inspires colleagues and holds them accountable in a professional manner.
uses his/her attention to detail to proactively make improvements.

Catering Sales + Event Coordinator
Catering by Goose provides exceptional client service and a unique, delectable menu for delivery, pick up, and service at four locations: Goose the Market, Smoking Goose, Oca in downtown Indy, and Oca in Carmel.
The Catering Sales + Event Coordinator builds relationships with current clients and actively engages new customers over the phone, online, and through networking in person. For small-scale and large-scale orders, this Coordinator oversees affairs from start to finish including bringing in new orders, assisting clients with menu selections, negotiating pricing and payment, coordinating orders with catering staff and on-site partners, and following up with clients.
Prior experience in catering, food service, or a related field is required, and sales experience is a plus. The successful applicant is self motivated, demonstrates excellent organization and communication skills, and has a professional, friendly demeanor as well as a commitment to customer service that goes above and beyond.
Although routine tasks may be accomplished during traditional office hours, irregular hours including evenings and weekends are required to oversee events, respond to customer inquiries, cultivate new business, and more. Meeting sales goals and growing the client base is a regular requirement of the position.

Enoteca Staff
wages + tips: about $14 or more per hour
part time or full time, shift includes evenings (generally finished by 9pm or earlier) and weekends (generally finished by 7:30pm or earlier)

This is a front-of-the-house position ideally suited to a people person who enjoys hosting and interacting with guests. A strong personal initiative to accomplish tasks independently is essential.

- engaging customers with information on beer, wine, and pairing suggestions
- preparing and serving small plates as well as beer and wine by the glass
